Removing screen in air intake box...

Question? I recently put a BMS air filter in my C7 z06. But the screen behind filer was pushed in. I removed it completely. Is this going to hurt anything? Trying to find replacement but can’t seem to unless I buy a whole new intake. Thoughts?

Isn't it there to prevent debris from getting into your manifold/motor? I would want mine in there personally.

I agree. I did not want to remove it. And yes it is but the filter totally seals this off, almost a safety net for something getting through filter

I suspect it might be there to catch any pieces of the filter if for some reason it might break up (water perhaps breaking down the fibers?)

It might also be there to straighten airflow ahead of the MAF sensor. My BMW motorcycle had one that looked like honeycomb.

I really don't see it bad are good one way are the other JUST if you have a motor to go bad I would get a used one from someone & put it into the car. They could come back and say a piece of what ever got thur & into the T.B. & intake & down into the motor and did it.

I don't see something like that to happen but you never know what they will say to get out of something .. Robert
