simple question. Can a no mechanical person install this him self or should a
You can. I did the one on my Camaro. My bro in law did the one on my vette (hand surgery so I was limieted). Just read the instructions first and make sure you have all tools on hand.

Nothing special. MM sockets, which pretty much everyone has now anyway, and a torque wrench.
I only made reference to the tools because my torque wrench did not go low enough for required torque and I had to run out and pick one up.

How do you measure torque with the allen keys you linked to?
I was giving an example of an Allen key people are familiar with. If they can't make the leap from that to an Allen socket they should not be doing the install.
Mine is already installed, perhaps you should contact McMaster and Soler.
Ahh I didn't even think of an allen key. Probably because my throttle body doesn't have an internal hex on the bolts. They're standard 10mm bolts that you would turn with a 10mm socket.
After 6 Months I finally got around to installing the Soler TB, I know my loss . I opted to just install and do the Two 3 minutes idle, one minute off process.
I read somewhere that no WOT after installation and the FIFO memory needs to be replaced with new Data before the full benefits are felt.
Can someone tell me how many Miles of driving or Start /stop cycles are required before the above mentioned things happen ?
Thank you.
Old thread but received mine today, installed and went for a drive. Manual car, the off idle smoothness is everything I was hoping it would be. No more sounding like the engine is going to die on tip in. I have took it for a short drive and noticed a couple times the idle wanted to stay just above 1k RPM and climb just a little until it settled. I figure it's still in the learning process so will do some more driving to see if it corrects itself.
I have the Soler TB and TC on my 19 GS and I think it is one of the best mods I have done. The TC lets you easily tailor the throttle response to your liking.
I just ordered the Soler Throttle body. 100 mm with adapter plate. I have a supercharger on my car. I already have the throttle controller which is absolutely needed on these cars.
I have the TB and TC on my Z51. It totally changes the driving experience of this car. I am probably different than most users and have my TC on Ludicrous 7. I drive a 1300 hp single carb rear engine dragster so throttle control is very important and L7 has that kind of throttle repsonse. I tried to run on Sport 6-9 and it just wasn't the same.
