Default Two mods worth considering $325

Hi,

Wanted to share two mods that took all of 35 minutes and only $325 but changed the enjoyment and drivability dramatically and will not void the warranty. Grand Sport Auto 8 sped. First one is Range AFM device that keeps car in 8cyl mode all the time! Car accelerates crisper and smoother and no god forsaken 4 cylinder mode! Just insert OB port under dash, takes 30 seconds. Second mod is the Vitesse throttle controller. Clips and connects in between factory gas pedal harness and results in far more instantaneous acceleration with far less pedal travel or lag. Car feels like 465hp monster it should have but did not from the factory. Removing one screw from gas pedal following simple video instructions and completing in 30 minutes is easy enough for novice. There you have it two really easy mods that will make your car feel oh so much more fun to drive and put a smile on your face every time you drive!

I have a A8 Stingray, I never go into ECO mode. I was looking into a AFM unit, I heard the AFM helps with shudder on the wheels? I was curious how to tell when the car goes into 4 cylinder mode?

I agree in on the Ranger. The car drives so much better. I have the throttle controller too. In my 13 C6 it was outstanding. But in my 19 GS, I don’t like it as much. Anything over about 4 and the car surges at light throttle. I mounted it so I can adjust it on the fly. It truly works, no doubt! Both good mods, I agree.

You can tell that car has gone into 4cyl mode by usually feeling it or by visually seeing it indicated on the odometer display in one of the various modes you can toggle through. When put in Range device shows always V8. 👍🏻

Put the exhaust into permanent track mode and when you hear the exhaust get quiet you will know the engine switched to V4 mode. When exhaust gets loud the engine is back in V8 mode.

OP; two good recommendations! I had a Range a couple years ago, and that version would cause error codes. But last year's model has been perfect. (Actually, little by little I switched to M mode so don't really need the Range unless I use A for some reason)

Regarding a throttle controller, I know Vitesse is really popular here. I bought one but found it sometimes would surge at low speed, like in a parking lot. I know I could disable it, but I really did not want to do this. When I did a short stint in the Porsche world, Sprintbooster was the favorite controller. They have updated it a lot, and I really like it and I have never had a surge with it. LINK
