Hey guys,
I have an on going saga with my OEM Suspension Control Module on my 17 Z06.
It started with "Suspension Service" error while using the DSC controller and after a few sessions with DSC guys we got the conclusion that i have a defect DSC Controller and i'm going to send it them.
However, the big issue that i have right now is that when the OEM Suspension Control Module is connected, the car won't start at all! (it only starts when the DSC is connected but with "Suspension Service" error).
I checked many times the Pins on the controller and also the connector on the car and they seem ok.
So right now, while i'm waiting for a new DSC controller, i'm also considering the get a new OEM controller: https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-pa...odule-23106523
My questions are:
1. Do you have a any clue what can be the issue with my OEM controller?
2. If i buy a new one, is it plug-n-play or i have to tune something or do any adjustments for the car?
Please note that i'm not from the US and i don't have a warranty for my car so i can't take it to a dealer.
Many of the forum parts suppliers are associated with a GM dealership. They may be able to configure the controller for your VIN before shipping the part. Try contacting Cultrag and see if they can help you.
This is just a guess but it sounds like there is something wrong with the hardware interface the controller plugs into. The suspension controller plugs into the GM High Speed LAN along with the GM High Speed LAN Chassis Expansion bus that provides high speed messaging for the chassis components. If there is something wrong with the connecting hardware one controller may have one type of symptom while a different controller could have a different symptom. If something is shorting the High Speed LAN while the stock controller is in place that might prevent the car from starting as the ECM communicates on that bus as well. With the DSC controller the pins may be aligned just enough differently that you get an error on the controller. This could be due to pins that have been pushed in further than normal or pulled out due to inserting removing the modules.
Remove the suspension controller so the car has none at all and see if the car starts. If it starts that is an indication there is something wrong at the interface where the module plugs into the car.
Bill thanks. It turned out to be just a coincidence that the car didn't start after I switched the dsc module out. It turned out to be a wire plugged in backwards going to the navtool. I noticed wires that were hanging down under the dash and unplugged, moved, and plugged them back in. Evidently I plugged one in backwards and it sent a strange signal to the bcm and the car wouldn't start. I traced it down and plugged that wire in correctly and it ran great. I ordered a 19 so I was removing everything that I wanted to put on the new car.
