Default Oil level sensor

2015 Z51 - car recently worked on now each time the car is started a service warning appears 'low oil level' 'add oil'.
Clears with the select button on the steering wheel.
Where is the sensor? Could a wire be disconnected?
The oil level is correct.

Bring it back to the shop, that's not normal. Are you following the correct dry-sump procedure when checking the dipstick?

The shop is a 4 hour drive each way, would rather fix it here.
Yes I know the correct procedure for checking the oil level.

What did you have done? That might give us some clues as to what was touched.

Dry sump cars do not have an oil level sensor, only the wet sump cars do. I suspect that the wire that goes to where the sensor would be (on the side of the oil pan for a wet sump car) is shorting to ground, causing the "Low Oil Level" warning.

The sensor is inside the pan. There a short cable inside the pan to a connector on the passenger side of the pan. As indicated above, this is only applicable to a wet sump engine.
