Default NPP Muffler addition - please help!

Please help me figure this out! I have a 2019 Stingray coupe 1LT without the custom exhaust, without the Z51 package and without the NPP. Just the very basic Stingray. I would like to upgrade the exhaust sounds and have been looking at Borla and Corsa. Do I need to purchase the entire exhaust packages they sell or just the NPP mufflers? Do I need new X pipes as well? Also, where can I get this work done once I purchase the aftermarket parts? Will the Chevy dealer do it typically? Will it end the Chevy warranty? Thanks for any input.

You could purchase these:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...7-z51-dfw.html

Remove your system and put your actuators (controllers) from your system to the same location on this OEM system (link above) the forward valves. I can't imagine making this swap would void the warranty.

You would always have this system operating in the loud mode. You could mechanically close the rear valves to make it as quiet as your stock system, but that would defeat the purpose of making a swap.

If you are not willing to install this yourself, any shop that has experience installing aftermarket systems on C7 Corvettes should be able to make this swap in 30 minutes (I watched this happen this quickly at Carlisle, PA last weekend).

If you decide to do this at home, there are videos on Youtube showing how to replace the exhaust system. If you do this with a floor jack and jack stands, make sure you lift the back end fairly high to be able drop the mufflers far enough to facilitate removal of the over-axle pipes. If you have an automatic transmission, make sure it is in neutral (the position of the gear selector in park gets in the way of removing the over axle pipe on the driver side).

I have made this change to my car. I will run it in with the valves open and no actuators.

Good luck!

After going thru the trouble to do the complete vacuum and electronics install, I think I would probably have to essentially concur with this statement, albeit for the "cool" factor with the remote, playing around outside the car, being able to quiet the burble a bit for the neighbors thru the neighborhood to keep the peace , etc.

The sound isn't substantially different open or closed with this particular 5th Gen Camaro NPP system like it is on my current Z06 or even 6th gen Corvettes with similar bi-modal exhausts that I have had in the past where the difference was much more notice-able open vs closed...

The Z...now that's a different story. When that thing opens up (muffler flies included), it's like the gate Sarkari Result Pnr Status 192.168.1.1 of hell have opened...

I researched and struggled with this problem for the last year. I plan on keeping the Vette past the time I will need to pass Arizona emissions testing. There are only two solutions I found. First, you could find a take-off npp muffler set used and cut off to meet rearward of the afm valves. Lowest cost option. I did not find any locally to buy.
The next option is offered by both Corsa and AWE. These are afm valve back muffler only. These solutions do not provide npp functions with the cars computer at all. They will be loud at all times. I chose AWE and am very pleased with the sound. The best install service in the valley is Cordes Racing in Tempe. They did mine for a 3 hr labor charge. If you want to spend $5000 Akrapovic has a system that provides excellent mufflers and pipes with ports for GM npp valves and a controller that works with them from the drivers area. Probably would not pass emissions because of eliminating cats and afm. May also void GM warranty. Good luck!

Akrapovic has options that don't do away with the cats. I just bought a set for my z06 and they make them for the stingray with the npp valves.

You are correct about Akrapovic. However, OP stated his Stingray does not have npp valves. He would have to buy GM npp valves new. Most owners like you keep their npp valves when replacing exhaust. Would be hard to find used.
I would suggest he find a npp equipped Vette and drive it in track mode to see if he liked the sound and always on. If so, unlike me, he should contact Joe at Cordes and see if he has or can source a salvage yard that he sells removals. He may know of a customer willing to sell his mufflers. Cordes has done hundred or so C7 performance upgrades and usually the first mod is a low restriction exhaust. I bought my AWE mufflers on Cyber Monday at 12:30 am while drinking a glass of wine. Not my usual Transaction! ha ha. I did get a good price with no sales tax from CSP.

Akrapovic actually sells the exhausts with the valves installed. The also sell a valve actuator kit and a control kit so if the car didn't come with the valves they can supply it all. It ain't cheap though....
