Looking too get new wheels. Love got know why going to a 19" on back instead of stock 20" would be a good or bad idea when used on track days? Does the inch help or hurt or is it insignificant...? Thanks Marc

I think it's done because there are more/ better tire selections for that size

That was my reasoning. Plus some cost savings which helps when burning thru rubber on the track constantly.
Also the taller sidewall gives some more cushioning for a better ride with less chance of bending a wheel.
I use 18"/19" setup for track. The 18" rear tires with proper diameters have to have huge profile for proper rake, and I don't like the idea. Example: R7 345/35/18 that looks very beefy, vs. 345/30/19 that has a roughly similar profile to the fronts (315/30/18).
There are no good track tire selections at 19/20, except Hoosiers, which are even more expensive at that size.
When i was researching there wasn't much cost savings between 20" and 19" but 18's were substantially cheaper and many more tire options. Going wider on the front really helps remove the stock understeer too.
