So I am trying to hardwire a dash cam onto a constant fuse so that I can always have it enabled but was wondering if it's safe to just unscrew the screw for the ground and place the hardwire piece under it? Do I need to remove the battery or do anything before that?
Sorry but this may be a dumb question, but is this the negative terminal? If so can I just unscrew it to add the hardwire clip under? Do I need to remove the battery or do anything before unscrewing it with a wrench?
If you trace that wire back it will end at the negative terminal on your battery. If all you are doing is looking to add a ground wire it will work fine under that bolt and for that, I personal wouldn't worry about disconnecting anything from the battery. If needed, send me a PM with your number and I can walk you through it when I get off work.
So I tried unscrewing the area where my finger is and it started to spark a bit when I unscrewed it to a certain point. Do you happen to know why? I pmed you my number as well.
Removing the main ground can cause some small sparking as there is current running through it. Why not just remove the fuse of the circuit your working in?
