I’m guessing that the strap hooks go into the jack pad holes. Definitely more stable looking than the singular eye hook that screws into an off centered port. Thanks for that option laserdude.
Depending on what year your car is, you may not have the mounting point for the tow hook anyway. I think they started putting it on all models in mid 2015.

I have a 2017. After work I did check the front grill and saw the tow hook mounting point. I also noticed a small square cap on the rear bumper cover. Tried to pop out with fingernail and no go. Didn’t have the time today to look further but I’m assuming that’s a tow eye mounting point also.

You will have the tow hook receiver behind the small square cap as well. Use a plastic non-marring tool to avoid damaging the paint when you remove it:
Here is a video showing how to install both the front and rear tow hooks. Your can also use a trim tool to remove the rectangular piece on the grill in front of the tow hook receiver. Insert the tool in the slot at the bottom of the plastic rectangle. Lift up and it will pop right out.
I know I'm late to the party here, but I have some info for you. The part discussed here is not called the "battery cover". I spent months searching for a battery cover. Just today I was on the GM parts site looking for something else. And behold, I see what I thought was a battery cover. It's called a Passenger Side Rear Floor Support Panel. The GM Part# is 23167549. I hope this helps those of you looking for it.
Those tow V-straps work nicely but take up space. Be sure they are long enough to not push on the underside of your front end as they angle upward to the tow truck winch. I keep a pair of the T-hooks in my cubby, but no straps, usually tow trucks have that.
I have the GM hook stored in the cover above the battery Some C7's have the receivers, some don't. It depends on the model & year, the only way to be absolutely sure is to look for the receivers.
The receivers aren't overly strong, GM says the system is designed for towing on level ground, not for pulling you out of the ditch. The hooks themselves look like they could lift a battleship, the aftermarket ones look wimpier than GM, some models are just for decoration.
If you have receivers, be sure to test that your hook will actually screw into them. The hook goes in at an angle and receiver will have dried paint/gravel/dust in the threads.
They are for gentle persuasion when in the gravel or soft shoulder and work perfectly, The hooks mentioned only work when you have access to underside, okay for street, no way your going to have clearance or time when you just need to get back on track.. You can modify cover to hold ZL hooks to keep them onboard
