Hello,
I'm thinking about picking up a Vitesse throttle controller for my '16 Z06 with the M7 and I'm trying to get some real world input on it from people that have one. I know it's only a couple hundred bucks or so but was it worth it? Will it cause a check engine light or cause a warranty problem? What setting does everyone find to be the best all-round setting? Thanks
I don't have much experience with other branded throttle controllers, but the one I use is Pedal Commander, which you may have heard of, but I know for a fact it doesn't make a check engine light come on, and it won't void the factory warranty if that's what you're going for!
I've had a Vittesse for a couple of years. I got it because I hated the stock throttle response at off idle. Meaning, the car liked to stall, (m7), when taking off from a stop with traffic. Yes, if you drive like your hair is on fire it’s fine, but 10% throttle didn’t give you the 10% of go... the controller changes the mapping of the throttle. (In engineering terms, it modifies the transfer function of the throttle signal to the ECU). Effectively making the response more linear.
a ported throttle body actually changes the air flow for a given throttle input. So it’s not changing the signal, it’s changing the airflow. Both accomplishment the same result.
if you installed a Vittesse and set it to zero, you might as well take it out. It’s not doing anything.

ive found that 5 out of 10, works for me
Wow!! And I thought I was the problem with this thing stalling. The analogy of driving it like your head is on fire is accurate. I've been driving tractor trailers and other manual vehicles for thirty years and I haven't stalled something as much as this thing. Between the hill assist and the numb throttle its a treat. I guess I could put the juice to it and then problem solved but I just don't drive like that. Is there a setting where the Vittesse controller is basically at a 1:1 setting? Meaning whatever throttle input you use is a direct correlation to how much the throttle body opens?
I had the Vitesse for a couple years. At very slow speed, as in driving around a parking lot, I found it kind of rough--or perhaps a tendency to surge is a better description. I will say that most owners did not see this (but a few others did).
I replaced it with a Sprintbooster control. This seemed to have a better tip-in, and took care of the surging.
Recently, I also upgraded to the Soler Throttle body. I will say that the combination is great. If I was doing it over, I would probably just bought the Soler throttle body and controller together.

I have no issue with hill assist, you just have to trust it.
if you read Solar’s stuff, it’s kinda like one or the other. Either get the TB, or the controller.
like I said, I’ve had zero issues with the Vittesse, but Solar wasn’t available when I got mine.
nothing is going to be 1:1, and you really don’t want it to be.
Trust me if you get both from Soler you won't regret it. I got the ptb first and then added the controller later. The ptb made a big difference and the controller was icing on the cake. I know I have both.
Just curious as to why you would have purchased the Soler over the Vitesse?
More adjustability, 37 settings vs 18, for one and it's a perfect compliment to their throttle body for 2. It's also half the price which is a consideration but not a major one for me. With something like this it would be a waste of time if it were free if it didn't do the job.
