if you read Solar’s stuff, it’s kinda like one or the other. Either get the TB, or the controller.
rrsperry, I didn't mean that "one or the other", my apologies if I mislead you. They DO NOT overlap, they ADD to each other. TC by simulating, TB by actually adding air/power. Check this thread for what we hope is a clearer explanation: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ar-wheels.html
This is the gist of it:
TC Only: Less pedal application can be made to open the throttle body the same amount. Feels more responsive by itself by scaling information/voltage to the ECM. Zero power addition.
TB Only: For any amount of throttle opening we get more air b/c the throttle body geometry was designed to do so. Feels more responsive by itself by adding air/power. Smoothest response curve and makes it more predictable.
Soler Prf. Total Throttle Control: TTC = TB + TC: The addition of these two independent effects above. Feels much more responsive than any single solution, smooth, predictable, and adds a moderate amount of power at every single throttle position.
Just curious as to why you would have purchased the Soler over the Vitesse?
Another good reason, besides what other members have already said, is that for the price of some throttle controllers you can get a full throttle control system from us (That is a Modified TB + a TC), adding the TB to the mix is something unbeatable in terms of performance and value.
I purchased a 17 and got rid of my 07. I was ready to get rid of the 17 until I installed throttle controller. It made all the difference in the world and you can dial in your throttle response. Great Addition! Love It. Keeping the C7 now.
