Default E-Brake warning light on

Anyone have any experience with this? While driving today I noticed the warning light on the dash came on for E-Brake problem.(E-Brake was in fact off) Also at the same time my exhaust went to stealth mode and the display for what gear you are in went to nothing. Manual says to take to dealer but I thought I would see if anyone has had this happen to them.

I have had that happen. Could be a number of things. Wiring harness and connectors from under hood BCM to brake control module in the rear. Ground wires. Etc.

Not really sure...I bought the car used two years ago with 11,600 miles and it still has the same one in it.

Okay, first this is what I would do. Disconnect battery negative lead for a few minutes and reconnect to see if it clears the issue. If so, have the battery checked (or just replace it).
Might be a short as pointed out above, but a failing battery can cause all kinds of weird codes to be thrown.
Keep us posted.

Disconnecting the battery to the Corvette is the old ALT-CTRL-DEL to a computer. It reboots the brain.

Learn from your owners manual the location of your TCM/ECM fuse(2014 #52 in Engine Bay Fuse Box), unplug it for a few minutes and you should be fine. Disconnecting the battery negative terminal achieves the same result, but it is a bit more time consuming.

Thanks for this! I've only had my C7 ZO6 for a month and was not aware of this reset method. In the C6 forums where I came from, the battery method was the common cure.
Appreciate it!

Start with the battery, as noted, AND clean the connectors (which many do not bother with). Then, decide on step-2 if needed. All the best!

Well not having driven that much... I finally drove her again and everything is back to normal 😁. Once everything settles back down or if it happens again I will go get the battery tested. Thanks all and stay safe.
