I can’t speak for the Katech ported TB, but I can for the Soler TB. On my M7 Z, big improvement to throttle response from tip in to ~ 30%. I think any of the ported TB’s out there are an improvement over stock. Mamo, Soler, and Katech seem to be the most popular around here. I researched all 3 and went with Soler. I’m very happy with it. Mamo has just released an updated version of their TB which is supposedly a noticeable change from the first version.
I have one. Ran it with the stock tune for a while and didn't really notice much difference. Just did a tune but with a few other bolt-ons and noticed quite a big difference. So can't really tell you how much the throttle body helped. What I can tell you is that the tune is what's going to make a difference not the throttle body by itself. If you want seat of the pants difference go with a throttle controller from Soler. It's $75 and you can control your setting at all times. It will make you smile. Good luck.

I have the new updated version of Mamo’s ported TB. I felt a nice difference over stock on my A8 z06. Highly recommended mod
I had the old Mamo and now a Soler, but looked at the Katech TB pretty hard back then. Now the Mamo 2 looks just like a Katech, the Soler looks different and I think it works different, that's just my SOTP though. Perhaps vendors can pitch in and explain or provide some data.
What I’m trying to get rid of is the dead spot when you take off from a dead stop. Like from a stop sign or a traffic light. I realize that it’s not going to be a performance gain.
So.. has any of the brands suggested lessened the dead spot or completely got rid of it. The reason I asked about the Katech TB is they say it gets ride of what I’m talking about. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with this issue.

Get a throttle body controller and it will solve your problem bud.
Any of these throttle bodies will lessen that dead spot by a lot.
the Soler one will probably make the biggest difference in that low throttle area, and the Katech and Mamo throttle bodies will actually flow a little more at WOT.
All of them will feel a lot better than stock, and reduce the amount of pedal pressure you need to use to get the car moving forward from a stop.

I have the Katech. It helps a lot. I'm sure the others do too.

Glad you liked it! Yea you can tell Tony’s new style TBs are much better then his old style. I’m sure more will jump on it once tony makes his official release on them. We lucky to be one of the first with it

I’m curious about this. Wouldn’t a bolt on change to the engine effect or void the warranty? I realize it depends on how cool (or not) your dealer is about it. Curious if anyone has had experience with their dealer after a TB nstall.
Soler seems to be the clear leader right now, and the only one with actual technical data to back it up. I like how he cuts the shalf down so it's only 1-sided. I upgraded from another brand to his and overall car seems to run smoother with less hesitation. I haven't retuned for it yet, but my tuner said not to worry about it just swapping from one brand to another.
Mamo appears to be incorporating some of Soler's design ideas into his v2. Good for him, competition drives the industry! Katech was the first to cut down the shaft on the LT1 TB way back when and I always wondered why others at the time weren't immediately jumping on that idea (the other popular brands at that time were WeaponX & Vmax). WeaponX is still around and makes a solid product. Vmax seemed to be junk though and finally stopped selling them. There's been a few other brands that have also come & gone after their 15 minutes of fame of being the current "hot street set up."
You really can't go wrong with Soler, Mamo v2, or Katech though. All make a legit product.

My dealers have never cared about any of my ported parts (intake manifold, throttle body, & exhaust manifolds), the AFE intake, or the Borla X-pipe. Heck, my current dealer didn't even comment on the AFE high-flow cat pipes. The great part about ported OEM parts is that they look identical to stock from the outside!
