Default Electrical issues

Thanks in advance for your help

2015 Z51 LT2 , Manual trans. ILIve in Maine, have winter tires , but still limited use in the winter, particularly this year, I don"t Think I have driven since around Christmas.

Would not start about 2 weeks ago. Gave a small crank then hummed. I did have the OEM battery maintainer plugged in, although not certain it was all the way in, assumed that was the issue. I made sure I had a good connection and the charge light was on.
More recently tired again, just got a click. Tried a different maintainer, same. Pulled off the ground, 6 ish volts across the nearly 5 year old battery.
Put in a Champion AGM. (that plate makes checking fluid levels in the OEM a non trivial exercise). I put a multimeter on the ground, there was a 2.6 amp draw across the battery.
Now the courtesy light will come on when connected, but thats it.
interesting trivia: trying to open the door resulted in the window coming down an inch or two at a time. It is now open and wont go up. It is embarrassing to call your wife and have her pull the little wire so you can get out of the car.
Under the hood has a small amount of mouse crap. The fuse box is clean. No obvious mouse nests.
No idea about what happened. I looked through the forum, and it seems close to the Safelight Lightning strike? There didn't seem a clear answer about etiology.
Parking brake is engaged. IT wont release.
I have to get it towed to the chevy dealer on Thursday. Is there a way to release the brake , or am I buying a set of Harbor Freight dollies.
Any simple things I have missed?
I will see if that extended warranty was worth it.

You might need a new battery after 5 years.

Sorry if I was unclear. The champion is a new AGM style battery.

Make sure your battery connections are tight. The windows will need to be indexed per the owners manual once the battery is replaced. Many have replaced the battery and didnt get the connections tight creating electrical issues.

You might want to know you do not need to call the wife to get you out of the car. the emergency door release is a handle down to the left and slightly forward of you seat. There is also a emergency door release for the passenger door as well, right side of seat & slightly forward, just pull up on the handle.

As far as you electrical issues, there is a possibility that you may have blown the main 350 amp fuse that is on the battery distribution block.

Thanks Belvin,

The door release is a head slap., was aware of that , at least in the past.
I went to check that fuse, and found a measurable resistance ??. Turns out I had made the nut tight but something kept it from snugging down. Didn't seem to be cross threaded but clearly did not have the tight connection needed.

Car started , ran fine.

The infotainment center does not light up and the glove box wont open. I know about the poke hole, for the glove box but will wait for tomorrow.
I can not get to the owners. tonight and a brief look in the forum does not mention a security process after a battery change. (My honda ridgeline needs a security code).

You can download a copy of your owner's manual from the Chevy website. You might try disconnecting and reconnecting the negative cable (total reset) and see if your infotainment center comes back. You should not have to do much more than index the windows. I replaced my battery a few months back and that is all that I had to do. all presets and settings remained unchanged.

Thanks for everybody's help.
It was a loose connection on the battery top fuse box that caused the original issue.
The info set did not come back after disconnecting for an hour., so it seems I need to go to the dealer after all.
glove box door is still locked as well.
Fuses for the glove box, and the one marked :"radio" or intact, so that does not seem to be the issue.

A final answer for the issues has been found.
A family of mice felt the power board and amplifier for the the vette ( under the carpet, next to the battery).
A winter worth of urine and feces trashed the electronics.
The weather this winter worked such that I almost never used the car. In the past is it would usually go out every week or 3.
I have had similar problems with on outside unit for the A/C. The winter I left power on , it became a warm spot, and attracted many mice.
The fact I had the charger in most of the winter may have been a factor.

I lse moth ***** and some peppermint in the RV with some success. I don't want the vette to smell like that.
Any other suggestions as a mouse deterrent for the Northern folks? Any body use the ultrasound devices?
It was $1500 porta potty for the mice.

Mice hate light. Keep a light on in the garage. Set traps. Mice can't resist peanut butter. Put some anti freeze in a shallow dish near the car. Again, they love this taste. Be careful however as it can kill your pets. We don't want that. Also, when I scoop my cat litter box, I put the stuff in another box near the car. Mice will avoid the smell of cats altogether. Believe it or not, mice are not stupid. Start the car at least twice a month. Check the trunk, pop the hood. Better to find something now rather than later. Leave the hood open when you shut off at least until it is cold. Peppermint oil in the engine compartment too.
