I went back and looked at some older WOT data files using Sunoco 93 nonethanol and noticed no knock issues. It only happened with Shell. Sometimes the oil companies marketing does not reveal the truth. My .02 thanks
Shell V-Power runs like crap in DI engines. My C7 is a dog on Shell 93. Any other brand is an improvement with Exxon/Mobil and Chevron/Texaco being among the best.

I never heard that or have had a problem with Shell 93. Why do you think you make less power running Shell gas?

make sure you are using GOOD 91/93 octane gas, it makes a difference... mobil, exxon, sunoco, amoco, bp, chevron are best brands to use, with mobil and exxon being the best..
NEVER use Shell, walmart/sams club/bj's, mom-n-pop, or no-name brands, as it's crap gas/additives that tends to cause a lot of knock retard and less performance/mpg...
has been proven time and time again... in several hundreds of vehicles, and even my own included.... I can tell in data logs if someone is using Shell or other crap/shitty gas, due to the amount of knock retard in data logs....

If you were to data log your car you would see why. As Lou mentions above he sees it in the100's of cars that he tunes . I can verify what Lou is saying as I saw my knock retard in my logs and now strictly use Mobil or Chevron
We had a Shell by our old office, and anyone coming to have their car dyno'd was strictly told to avoid that station.
We once filled up a brand new LS2 C6 there, strapped it to the dyno and watched it knock like crazy. Was down 20-25 rwhp stock. Tune made it worse.
Drained the tank, ran it to the Mobil down the street and strapped it back down, and bam, 25 rwhp came back.
I dont believe that any brand of fuel is the same from region to region, but Shell has not been a top choice down this way for a while now.
So not trying to hijack, but I’ve got a question. I have a completely stock z51 m7 except for the AWE xpipe with rear cat delete. I want to up the idle and lower the launch control rpm. Will getting a tune offer me anything really in any performance gains? Is it worth the money for just the two rpm changes?
p.s. I’ve gotten tunes before on automatic cars with more mods and could tell a huge difference but not sure if it was anything more than just making the trans shift harder.
I think the comments speak for themselves. With my tune I also raised idle which really helps roll out from a stop, DOD/AFM turned off, CAGS turned off, plus Lew’s tune.

Its not just the HP gain , which at best on a stock car is 20 HP , its the driviblity of the car that changes. Lew's tune will reduce torque management which limits your HP , he will change throttle response and a host of other changes . Plus if you don't like a certain setting you can go in and modify it yourself or return it to stock .

Sorry to hear you had issues, but I have not seen that reported before.
Did you contact us about it at the time?
I'd love to look at the tune files and make sure everything looks correct, etc.
I'm sure we can sort it out.
Have a 17 GS Z07 6M...mods include AFE CAI, Soler TB, Ported intake, LG long tube stepped headers and xpipe with HP cats. Lew did my tuning and wow...the car is night and day vs. Stock. The responsiveness and pull is just wicked (not to mention the sound!) You can't go wrong with this tuning path with bolts-ons.
