Default Wanting some Diablo Intune feedback

My ‘15 Stingray with a manual tranny is now fully out of warranty so it’s time to get the Diablo Intune that I’ve been considering for years. I intend to get a custom tune fro DiabloLew. My question is that since I already have a ported throttle body and a cai, will the tune make a noticeable difference? Many people comment on how the Intune improves the tranny but I have a manual. The car is running flawlessly now but could use a bit more pep. Just wondering if I should bother.

A custom tune can add some power for sure. It can also get rid of a lot of torque management and help the throttle response but I can't say much for the Diablo Sport tunes. If you don't plan on modding anything else go for it. If you have future mods planned out I'd wait to do those and get a custom tune.

Lew will do a remote custom tune via emails. I didn’t think about torque management so that might be noticeable. Probably won’t do many more mods unless I throw caution and money to the wind and supercharge it. Then I’d need a dyno tune I realize. Not likely to happen anytime soon though. Thanks for your reply.

I have a '15 Z51 M7 and I am in the middle of tuning with DiabLew, so far it has been a good experience. Here's where we are at: My Z51 has a aFe CAI and Soler ported TB, I had a Soler Throttle Controller also, but took it off for the tune and I don't know if I'll use it after the tune is complete. I am running 93 octane fuel.

I purchased the iTune 3 Platinum from Lew's website with the custom tune. The I3 came within a few days and I installed the canned
93 aFe Diablo Tune and ran the car for 150 miles. To be honest, the car ran great on that tune. I then data logged the car for a few minutes, keeping the RPM between 1700-2400 on the highway and emailed the data log to Lew. Lew got the tune back to me very quickly, which I installed, then emailed the last written tune file back and Lew confirmed all was installed correctly. So far, running great and pulls a lot harder at 3500+ rpm. Next step is to run the car for another 150 miles and then perform a Wide Open Throttle data log, which is where I am now.

So far, I am very happy with the way the car is running, the I3, Lew's tune and customer service. The tuner is easy to work with and I like the fact I can go back to my original stock tune or move from Lew's tune to a 91 octane tune if I am going on a long trip.

I have the i3 platinum and did a Lew Tune. Most definitely see a difference. 2019 GS M7 with AFE CAI, Soler TB, and a Soler controller; had to turn it down because the improvements at the lower rpm range made tire spin in 2nd and 3rd. Turning the idle up to 750 really helps roll out from a stop.

My car runs 11 seconds with a Diablo Lew tune . Mail-order tunes are the same as someone doing a street tune except your tuner is in another state

Make sure you download the FREE Diablo Viewer , you can set up a dashboard with all the PID's that you are measuring , I use analog gauged styles then you open your log file and it will play back your run

I use it a lot to view my 1/4 mile runs , the analog gauges have a yellow " TELL TALE" pointer that is very helpful if something should be out of wack like knock retard , timing , ST and LT fuel trims

At that point I switch to a graph view to see when the anomaly is happening . at that point I plug the tool into my car and make the adjustments like adding fuel etc …

its pretty cool

I saw that but I use a Mac at work and home, I don’t think the viewer works with that. Bummer!

I got the Intune from Lew yesterday. I had to contact tech support to get a new version of the upgrader software that will work with a Mac computer. It worked and I loaded the latest upgrades. Installed the 93 octane canned tune in the C7 and put 100 miles on it today. At first the car seemed about the same as it was but I think it became a bit perkier as it adapted. Nothing dramatic. I’ll post what happens after the Lew custom tune. So far so good.

I’m finished with the process and I give it a thumbs up. The tune seemed to come together best after Lou’s wide open throttle tune. It seems sharper and quicker now. I’m not likely to bother with a new exhaust but maybe cams if that would make a big difference. Maybe the next step should be a supercharger.

He does a good job. Had the tune redone after a Xpipe rear cat delete. Had to do the WOT twice because I had crap Shell gas as Lou said in the car. Watched the knock sensors go all over the place on the data viewer software. Did it again with Mobil non ethanol 93 and saw no knock on the data file.

I read on this forum a while back that the Shell premium was one of the best. Who knows. I wish there was non-ethanol around here.

I also had Knock at the 1st to 2nd shift, was using Shell, after showing Lew my data log files he suggested that it was the gas also, I richen up the fuel just a tad at that point which stopped the knock retard but I still only use Mobil now if I am racing

How many of those gasoline articles that are written do data logs on the test cars ... i bet none .....

I finished my WOT logs and final tune with Lew about 10 days ago and I am very happy with the results. I don't know if I got anymore horsepower or not, but the car runs great and Lew has been a pleasure to deal with!
