Great info, I have kooks headers and a borla x pipe. my shop told me I needed the kooks x to work with the kooks headers and won't fit with the borla.

My ARH long tube system came in today. After looking at the system, it’s not fair at all to say that any system that is designed to bolt directly to the factory mid pipe should be considered a mid-length header. In fact, the primaries on the ARH headers are not quite as long as those on the Corsa or BBE headers. I say that because the collectors for the ARH system are closer to the engine than the collectors will be for any system designed to mate up to the factory mid pipe.

So for anyone considering a decent set of headers that will allow you to use your factory X pipe with the secondary cats in place, don’t worry about the Corsa 16004 or the BBE equivalent being mid-length headers. Their primaries are every bit as long if not longer than top-tier systems like ARH. Ive attached a photo of the factory manifold/cat pipe section compared to the ARH primary section for reference.

headers look great ! Got mine in the garage waiting to install ! How is the install and more importantly , how’s that sound !!

The install was a bitch - mainly on the passenger side. Getting the stock manifold and cat pipe out was not fun. But it’s done, tune complete, and all good. Sounds great and picked up about 35 hp over stock.

I hate to raise this thread from the dead, but this was GREAT information. I'm looking to do a LT install on the cheap and this was exactly what I was looking for. My main priority is of course sound and hp gains, but having cats is a close 3rd. I don't want the smell, and cutting down on emissions isn't a bad bonus either.

If I purchased either the Corsa or BBE LTs, it looks like I would be deleting the primary cats, correct? The LT's don't have cats after the collectors, and it would bolt up to my stock mid pipe which would still have the secondary cats, correct? Are the secondary cats good enough for removing the smell and pollutants? I would also have a CEL because the primary cats would be gone, if I'm not mistaken?

You are correct - you would be deleting the primary cats and keeping the secondaries if you use the factory mid-pipe. I can't comment on how effective the secondary cats are in removing the fumes by themselves, but surely they are at least as effective as these aftermarket "race" cats. And yes, you'll have a CEL due to the removal of the primary cats, but that can be tuned out.

Apparently these will bolt on directly to the stock mid-pipe, however, the quality and fit is unknown.
