Default Center console

got a problem with the lid that covers the cup holders in the center console. it decided it doesn’t want to stay closed. anybody run into this? does the whole console have to come out to get to the mechanism? any help is appreciated.

If nothing else, there should be instructions on removing console cover-pieces on vids and at threads here on how to install aftermarket shifters. Try an "Advance Search" denoting C7. Good luck.

i pulled out the cup holder and found the problem. not fixable so i need a new cup holder. anyone know what the part number is? i went to gm parts direct and it says the number is 84263028. however other gm parts sites say it is not the right part for my 2014 coupe. that number is only for convertibles. can’t imagine there would be two different cup holders for coupes vs verts. anybody with experience with the c7 console cup holder and what cup holder i need to replace the oem part?

thx but that is not my cup holder issue. my existing cup holder no longer opens automatically. the lid will not stay closed any more. i pulled it out and found the problem but can’t be fixed. need to replace the entire unit. i pulled the two springs out and added enough friction so you can manually open and close the lid. works fine. gm parts direct shows a cup holder that fits my car but other sites say the part will not fit mine. just want confirmation the part is the right one but trying to get an answer from gm parts direct so far has been fruitless.

Call a dealer with VIN to confirm, I have run into that also in past, said it would not fit and it did
I have had good luck with Van Chevy Parts in Scottsdale, there website sells cheaper than list and cheaper than there parts dept.
https://www.gmpartscenter.net/
compare there prices to other GM sites
Seriously doubt console is different in a Vert, I understand you want confirmation
Maybe find a used one from salvage once you confirm

just went to their website and they used the same app and database that every other dealer uses. i type the part number that gm parts direct says will fit into the dealer app and it says the part will not fit. i can call the dealer with my vin but what vehicle will the parts person use to find the right part if not the same app they have on the website? typed in my vin in the same app. went to console section and the only listings were for logos and console lids. nothing else.

We both doubt there are 2 different consoles, if you buy it make sure its returnable, have dealer look up the Vert part number, I bet its the same
This looks like it fits, does not say anything about Vert, surprised its that cheap, no vette tax on that

You also can research these old numbers
