Ported TB and Controller is the best bang for you bucks. Doesn't hurt to start there, tuning the car will possibly void the warranty.

The ported throttle body will not. And if you just keep your stock one you can always bolt it back on anytime you want. A used Soler sells like hot cakes on the forum. You can't lose.

I started a throttle lag thread few months ago when I got my Z and got attacked there with guys telling me my car is broken. Haha

now with the afe intake, soler ptb, and my sprint booster (throttle controller) it’s extremely sensitive which I love. If I had to do it over again I would get the soler TC as it’s a lot cheaper than the other options.

My solution was the easiest. I just got used to it over time. Now I am calibrated.

I installed the Solar throttle controller first and the lag disappeared. Then added their throttle body. Much smoother.

My friend liked the controller so I installed on on her 2019 Grand Sport A8. She loves it and no lag at all.

A Mamo throttle body for your LT1 is the way to go IMO. I have installed a Mamo II on my LT4 Z06 with M7 in the spring and the throttle lag is gone. It made the car much more fun to drive and responsive off idle. The throttle is dead-straight linear now without the off-idle dead area.
I also added a BMS dry air filter and the two together work very well on my car. In my research about ported throttle bodies and different brands, the Mamo II seemed to meet what I was looking for and has met every expectation. Tony Mamo has developed his products to match the application for the best airflow possible. He will provide a great product and stands behind it with a good warranty.

I sold my Tony Mamo Version 1 and It was good but the Solar was immediately noticeably better but I’m sure the Mamo stepped up its game in version 2. Both are very good brands and no knocks on Mamo just expressing my experience but again you were specific you have Version-2. Enjoy!

I did the same thing. I talked with Mike at Soler and he told me to try his tb and if I didn't like it he would give me a full refund. I posted the Mamo for sale on here the day I installed the soler. Then I bought his tc. Money well spent. I also had the version 1 from Tony. His tb was an improvement over stock and the soler was an improvement over his. ymmv. I will add that most people only buy one and then love it. I loved the Mamo until I tried the Soler.

Is the lag that is being talked about the same thing as a hesitation? On my car, especially if it is not fully warmed up, a quick tap of the throttle results in a hesitation. You can hear the intake make a sucking sound but it takes a fraction of a second before the engine revs up.

For those of you who had engines with carburetors back in the day, it acts the same as when your carburetor did not have enough accelerator pump capacity and the engine would go lean for a second when you tapped the throttle.

Is there something wrong with my car, or is that normal C7 behavior? My car is a stock C7 Stingray.

What you are describing is exactly what I experienced and have described as lag. Hesitation is a better term.

So if the problem is hesitation resulting from a lean condition, a quicker throttle body can't solve that problem. Tuning could, if you fatten up the "tip in" mixture. But a quicker reacting throttle body does not address the lean condition at all.

I only notice this hesitation on my car when tipping in from idle. When cruising down the road, adding more throttle results in good engine response.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a tune on a stock setup that would fix this hesitation? Or does getting a tune require an aftermarket engine controller or some other aftermarket parts?

There are actually two issues, hesitation/stumble off of idle and slow foot feed response at the first 20% to 30% throttle.

My impression is the hesitation is primarily cure by the throttle body. While it may feel like it is caused by a lean condition, it may well be caused by something else which a modified throttle body addresses.

The throttle controller address the slow throttle response.

I suggest reviewing Soler Engineering's website and calling Mike if you have questions.

As for a tune, yes this is readily available but I cannot address impact on the hesitation. Note however tunes void the engine warranty.

I agree, Elk.

I have a Soler PTB, and a Pedal Commander throttle controller. With Soler’s guarantee, I’d recommend the OP purchase the throttle body and controller (<$500) and trying it out for himself. For me, it has solved all the problems and frustrations he describes, without voiding my warranty with a tune.
