Default Throttle lag - any real solutions

I have a 2019 Grand sport A8 2lt trying to address the throttle lag. I love this forum lots of info
but are there a real solutions?
Vitesse throttle controller, NEW THROTTLE BODY, Cowbooster, HP TUNER...etc. Do any of these items solve the throttle lag problem? Your assistance is appreciated.

I have a Soler Ported throttle body and that along with a DiabLew tune git rid os any lag I noticed. Car runs great. I did have a throttle controller , but when I got the tune, I opted not to put back in. Feel I don't need it and it is one less thing to go wrong. FYI: Both Soler and DiabLew were great to work with, I wish all vendors were as responsive as they are.

Soler has good reviews and is on the forum for help. That's the one I plan on getting.

ok, a bit of a different opinion here, and no doubt I will be flamed...

I had a Vitesse and it was installed over a year. I started to notice a "clunk" when the car was cruising over 50. I spent months trying to figure out the cause. One day, I just disconnected the Vitesse and low and behold, the clunk totally disappeared and never reappeared. No one ever reported anything like this so maybe I was unique. Into the trash bin it went.

I got the Soler TB and did not notice any difference whatsoever. Come to find out later that on an A8 that the Soler makes absolutely no difference.

Given your avatar one would assume you seek to be flamed.

Your experience is your experience. There is no reason for anyone to be critical of you merely because you are reporting it.

Your comment, "Come to find out later that on an A8 that the Soler makes absolutely no difference," makes it sound as if this was revealed somewhere. What is the basis for this statement?

I have the Vitesse on my 19 LT1. It’s terrible. On anything above 2, it makes the car surge on and off. Makes driving terrible. On my 13 it was outstanding. I have the other ported throttle body. My flat spot didn’t change. I talked to a tuner yesterday. He’ll program that flat spot out. He keeps the tune within the Calif smog requirements. All these little things can be fixed.

An HPTuners tune can fix it for sure. But if you're not willing to tune the Ported TB will help. Personally I recommend a ported TB and tune. =P

The throttle controllers ehhhhhhh some people like them, but I think they are terrible. It's all subjective anyway.

Default So far all GREAT!!

Not many miles since my last addition, a Soler Throttle Controller. Have Hallcraft Air, Mamo Throttle body and Borla X Pipe. The Controller set on SP5 really made a "seat of the pants" difference. Not many miles since all the additions, but sure running smooth and quick, (no "clunks"). All done on 2016.

There was a thread started on this forum after I had the Soler installed for a while, where the manufacturer posted that his TB made no real performance difference on a stock A8. Of course had he admitted that in his initial threads where it was so much touted, I would have saved some $.

I had a 2013 grand sport and had Chuck at COW do a tune with the throttle enhancer and there was a huge different. I just bought a 2014 Z51 and now I am wondering what should I do go back to COW or is there something better . So I am looking to see what you guys have found out

I put the soler tb and controller on mine and it made a lot of difference. I didn't tune because I didn't want to void the warranty. Yet.

It's it's a little over 500 but I got everything new and I can put mine to stock if I sell it and then sell the solar throttle body and controller. It was money well spent in my opinion. It's all plug and play. Easy installation.

Solar Throttle Body and Controller is the real deal and strongly recommend! Best Bang for the buck performance Mod that I have done and completely took care of the lag.

I keep it at Sport SP9....The Lu or Ludicrous Mode too much for me to handle and can get away from you! Total install shouldn't take more than 30 minutes for both TB and TC.

Default Throttle Lag Solved by Soler Performance Package

I have a 2019 ZR1 Manual Trans....Installed the Soler Performance Throttle Body along with their Throttle Controller set to recommended SP5 setting...Night and Day difference in throttle response.....Do it and you will be a happy camper....Tuning (HP Tuning) is very expensive because it requires replacement of ECU which runs about 2000.00 plus Dyno...Voids factory warranty.....The complete cost of the Soler Perfomance TB and TC is about 435.00 exchange....
