Looking at doing a Callaway conversion on my 2019 Grand Sport M7. I plan on keeping the car at least another few years. If I made the plunge, I think going that route versus a local race shop blower/supercharger add-on would be better. Then again I keep thinking to leave well enough alone as the car has a few basic mods-tune, soler, CAI, x pipe, and runs well. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated. Thanks

It really comes down to the cost approach. Also maybe re-sale, you mentioned keeping it a few years. The Callaway direction will cost much more, may include a better warranty. Would probably get a better re-sale value in my opinion. Local shop route will allow you to save a few bucks and still deliver a good result. I had looked at all these options and went with the local shop. More power options, complete customization to my desire. Not to mention the cost savings, I was able to get a fully built motor and all the bells and whistles for less . No concern with the re-sale, I was more concerned about the performance I wanted etc. Hopefully that helps shed some light.
Yes I did consider local but the warranty is attractive with dealer support. The hole in the hood has function but at this point I am not sure I want to Trans Am look. I personally like the appeal of a sleeper. I am going to think about it over the weekend after I receive a freight quote. Thanks
I appreciate the insight. The hole in the hood is growing on me. There is some discussion that Callaway may not give their warranty since I have a secondary cat delete X pipe installed. I am also considering a Lingenfelter blower system. They say either the Magnuson or Edlebrock clears the hood. Similar horsepower gains. Thanks

The Callaway designed blower is made for them by Edelbrock using the same Eaton 2300 rotor pack used in Edelbrocks own E force and Magnuson heart beat blower. I have the E force, Edelbrock does give a 3 year power train warranty if some installs their blower, but that 3 years starts from the date the car was built not when the blower was installed. You should give Callaway a call and find out from them about their warranty. you’ll definitely get more for a Callaway or Lingenfelter at resale but you’ll pay a lot more to have them do the install.

I have been researching all the blowers and am somewhat impressed with the E force. Does it clear your hood, assuming you have a std GS/SR hood? Thanks
Lingenfelter looks like a great deal. No hole in the hood, same horsepower, Magnuson clears the hood as they drop the sub frame 1/2", before and after dyno, single enclosed trailer pickup, 4 wheel alignment, and about $6000 less.

I have. I do know I do not like the attitude that they have to potential customers like they are the only option out there and that other shops, tuners, accessory manufacturers just don't understand how GM has engineered the C7. Could say more but let's see I have other choices...Lingenfelter, Late Model Racecraft, RPM.

I'm curious, what type of attitude did you get? Were you asking for a discount/deal or anything...it was it something else?
I felt like I was getting schooled because they don’t understand why someone would replace CAI, throttle bodies, exhaust when GM has done all the research and testing for CARB, EPA etc while the after market companies and shops have not. I had an interest in their conversion due to an implied warranty with GM. I was told that since I put a Soler TB, CAI, and Xpipe I voided my warranty. Since he is an ex SCCA champion and owned or ran car dealers he was the expert. Was not a good conversation and Callaway is off the list. Since I already voided my warranty as they said I can freely go to other shops that don’t have that yankee damn attitude. Probably will save several thousand dollars and no hole in my hood.

Would the TB, CAI, & really void a warranty? I wouldn't think so unless a tune was involved. @*89x2* might know
The new sales guy there is always seems interested in talking about himself when he shouldn't be. Don't let him be a bad reflection of the rest of the company.... salesman aside they do build a quality, extremely reliable product.

I had issues with a shifter and they went above and beyond to get it sorted out for me. I broke the screw that holds the shifter **** on and needed it for a weekend track event and they got the part to me the next day. Shipping costs were a lot more than the part cost and they bent over backwards to help. They also advised me on installation, etc. Really great guys to work with when I was dealing with them last year. Not sure who you talked to but I also bought a take off supercharger from them on my 15z. They were always professional and could not have been easier to deal with.
