2019 1lt: is there a way to to set up door locks to avoid gas fill door not opening?

You can do what post #2 shows or you can put a scrivet in the hole and not allow it to lock. That's what I did.
Scrivet GM 963-021

Size of scrivet
Head Diameter 5/8"
Stem Diameter 3/8"
Stem Length 3/4"

5/16" body panel retainer Autozone 464340

Just push one of those into the locking hole and be done with it.

Elmer, Thank you for the help. What hole does the scrivet go in? On the fuel door arm there is a round hole on the side and a opening on the top. I can’t tell how the mechanism operates. Please advise.

Just put whatever you wish into the hole the pin "moves" into, such that it can no longer do so. I did mine so long ago I cannot recall what I used. Just another lack of forethought/concern on GM's part. All the best.
