I have a c7 2017 stingray and have been getting foul plugs , the dealer says its fine need to heat it up more and drive longer..I have had cylinder #1 foul out twice this last year..
.Is there an additive I could add that would clean out that carbon build up on the plugs??
I am running 93 octain fuel but just do not drive it that much..Only have 12000 miles in 3 and a half years. The plug will go out all of a sudden with no warning and then it is undriveable...shakes real bad..so I have been carrying around a spare plug and torque wrench so if it happens i can fix it.I went ahead and bought an extended warrenty just in case it goes bad...
Thanks for the info...sanford

Never heard of such a thing being "normal" on a modern car, let alone a C7. Is it fouled with oil? If so they should give it a closer look, to include a compression check. If it keeps fouling it will eventually create new problems, like fouled cats, in addition to whatever the root cause is. The last car I had that fouled plugs was my 1966 Mustang 200 cid 6 cylinder that I bought used. It needed a complete valve job.

Please go to another dealer. That is not normal for even a second.
I have a 2016 Covette that is stored in my basement and if I let the car sit for 2 or 3 weeks and don't drive it, it will have a dead skip on a cylinder with bad shake and vibration. I assume this is from moisture building up in the fuel injection system, when I get it out and drive it a few miles and blow the moisture out, skip disappears and will not show up again as long as the car is driven once a week or so. Just pulling it out and letting it run a few minutes will not clear it up, has to be driven hard. But a fouled plug that will not clear up after romping down on it a few times is another problem. If the plug is actually fouled something is causing it, could be gas fouled or oil fouled, may be a valve or valve seal problem on that cylinder or a problem with the rings on the piston letting excessive oil get to the plug and causing it to foul.
Thanks for the response,, I am going to take it to another dealer...This is not right at all...I just wanted to hear it from others....
I took it out yesterday on the interstate..Got it up to 85 and ran it at 75 for 10 miles...Did a total of 60 miles..Got home and cked. the plug...The plug was wet and black..No buildup but not clean either? 300 miles on this plug
Since its still under warranty , extended...I do not want to mess around..The only reason I did change plug is its the easyest to get to and it would not drive without shaking apart without changing..I am keeping records and pictures and if it happens again I will be more forceful with my dealer...
The strange thing is it runs GREAT...plenty of power...no oil loss or lower gas millage..On my little road trip I got over 28mpg for the 60 mile trip.. I got a great extended warranty from dealer for another 7 years and 50,000 miles..I have only 12,000 miles since 2017..
I am just concerned and plan to get the new corvette when it becomes ready in my area...Again...thanks to all for the imput and ideas
Have they ever scanned the ECU to see if there has been a misfire. Plug wire or coil is usually a culprit. I'm assuming you do run at least 91 octane fuel.

Thanks...I do not know what they ran as far as tests..I do run 93 octain fuel.... The engine is still under warranty and I have that extended one too...so I do not know why they would lie to me...I got 7 more years of coverage....
Like I said before, If they say nothing is wrong than what do I do...If I go to another dealer and he says the same thing...then what.....???
Thanks to all for the suggestions,,,this is a huge foram and I find it hard to believe that someone out there, like a chevy official that sees this and can not steer me as to what to do...
Its so frustrateing...NO computer warnings saying its fuel or o2 or something. the plug in monitor says everything looks good....no oil leak or useage...good gas millage...PLENTY of power when I get on it....
I want the new bad boy with hard top convertable but have no idea when I can get it....
