bought a 2016 z06 with 97 miles on it. i assume the battery was removed while it was stored and the car needs to be run thru some cycles before its ready for emissions test it has failed 3 times now after 300 miles of freeway and city driving. dealer told me there were no codes and all i had to do was drive it some more but i had a friend plug in his scanner and he said it had two codes, maybe the system is still waiting for some feedback from from some of the sensors? codes are P26C8 and P184C. Any help would be helpful.
Since you don't have a Check Engine Light, the codes your friend read for you are likely history codes. Drive it a lot and ask your friend to read the readiness monitors before you go for another emissions test.
P26C8 - Chassis Control Module Requested MIL Illumination - informs the technician that the chassis control module has set the emission related DTC. The serial data message sent by the chassis control module also contains a request for the ECM to illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).
P184C - Transmission Cooling Fan Control Circuit - The chassis control module receives transmission oil temperature and vehicle speed data to control the Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) duty cycle of the cooling fan.
