I recently had my car serviced (big 15k) and had the transmission flushed/filled with the new blend (I never had the shudder, just got hotter than normal 240+). I know there is a transmission cooler behind the drivers rear wheel, what else is back there that would leak oil? Is that where techs would do the transmission fill and they spilled some?
That's what I found the next day on my garage floor: oil and wet oil beneath the body. I'm a stickler for maintenance and keeping things clean and tidy. This is bothersome. I know I can pull panels and determine the leak, but maybe I'll just take it back to the dealer and have them deal with it. I'm still under B2B, so it'll be covered regardless (I hope).
Yeah, based on that TSB, they shouldn't get near the cooler. I'm pretty sure the e-diff cooler is on the other side. Regardless, this has been the weirdest service... and I paid for it 1.2k. At pickup, there was black grease around the door handle; the interior armrests had black grease on them. I let them know but didn't pursue it. I'd clean it up better and quicker the way I want it before storage.
Then, as I'm covering it up for the winter, I see 2 drops of oil (Army guys=Class III leak) on my garage floor... hence, the question. I didn't think there was anything else hydraulic back there except transmission lines/cooler. Thanks for the confirmation.
* Got word back from the dealership: residual from the transmission service. Wow. Now I'm wondering what/how? Isn't that stuff pretty caustic and it's casually spray that stuff anywhere? I've got some @Steve Garrett level carbon fiber back there. Uhhhg... TY'all
