I wanted to share some info on the C7. I had a severe water leak on the passenger side floor board. Turns out it was the black applique that sits on the A pillar that failed. Once removed, the interior is exposed to the elements. I think it is a design flaw but no one from GM wants my opinion. I only can figure that repeated trips through the local brushless wash created sufficient pressure to seep behind the applique and prematurely cause it to fail. Unless you are under the original 3-36 factory warranty, this will be an out of pocket repair as even the GM aftermarket warranty does not cover water leaks.

A molding strip which seals out water, air, and debris away from the edges of your windshield where it meets the vehicle's body. CONVERTIBLE. COUPE. APPLIQUE ASSEMBLY - BODY SI. Outer. Retaining strip. Reveal. Side. Windshield.
It seems to me you/dealer personnel were fortunate to find the issue so quickly. Also, the cost of replacement parts is hardly exorbitant, given that of many for Vettes. All the best, and now do stay dry!!!
The windshield glass is sealed. This plastic piece sits on top of the A pillar but underneath is not solid. The tech told me that when he hears of a water leak, that is the first place he checks. GM# 23163511
@Avanti, the part was nominal. I agree. Water had nestled in for weeks maybe months ( I never saw an issue) before I discovered it and the passenger side floor board was soaked. The service advisor was not honest with me and told me the tech needed to remove the seat and carpet but the tech said the bolts were rusted and couldnt remove the seat so he merely put a fan on it for a few days but wanted to charge me $1100.00. I complained and they knocked down the price but I had to complain a lot.

I have the same water leak issue with my wife’s 19 Stingray. I took it to the dealer back in October and they could not replicate it. I don’t think they tried too hard. The 3/36 runs out mid April so I will be taking it back to the dealer once it warms up around here, armed with this new information.
@eboggs. Not sure what the photo suggests. The part I am speaking of is GM# 23163511
My picture is the rubber seal, call out #4 and you are looking at the very bottom of the seal. Near where call out #10 is shown. I think the rubber seal is the water barrier and the 511 is a cover on top of the water barrier to make it look nice.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
