Default Input on Intake Options?

Hi Guys,

I'm shopping intakes. aFe is usually my go to. What are your thought/inputs on current intake options for my 2019 GS?

Go with what you know. Differences are negligible for NA applications.

On the LT1, an intake isn't worth the money unless you're doing a ported throttle body and ported manifold as well. Otherwise just buy a drop in like the BMS.

I have the gm performance intake. I don’t think it gives any hp increase on the gs but it is nice to be able to look at the filter without taking things apart. I think the afe has a window as well as you know

On other than the Z, unless you are doing the swap for looks or as a project while quarantined, it's a waste of time and money.

(btw, GM has said as much with their own "performance" intake)

I think the GM intake would shine a little if combined with a Soler ported TB and a porter of choice ported intake manifold.

It's gotta do something ! Ever take a look at the baffles on the stock intake? Once those are gone you have a smoother direct air flow and a better sound. This mod is on my list if I don't do a supercharger.

Those baffles are called Hemhotz resonators and as ugly as they are these actually serve to smooth the air flow , the C6 LS2 motors , especially a stick car had an annoying surging caused by the airflow over the maf sensor , GM changed the intake tube and added Hemholtz resonators the LS 3 to eliminate the surge, they designed the C7 with them also ...

OP on an LT 1 motor the Vararam is the only CAI that shows a gain

I put on a Soler TB and a Vararam CAI. With a tune I picked up about 20lbs and 23hp at the wheel.
I didnt get a controler but I got the Z06 pedal instead. No more throttle lag

23 to the tire came from the tune. Not the intake or tb.

I know my final numbers were because of the tune.
Before the tune on the 1st pull my tq was 412lb and HP was 392.
I didnt dyno before the mods so I dont know what the stock numbers would have been, but I would think the mods gave something over stock.
