Default Hub removal

Can someone please direct me to a how to for the removal and replacement of rear hub assembly for a 2014 C7 Z51? I did the fronts and now I am at the rear with a lot of things removed. Do I remove the parking brake or do I have to?

You have to undo the parking brake cable. The cable can then come with the knuckle assembly. You need a scan tool to allow the cable to extend fully so you can disconnect it. Then the scan tool will retract it once done. I don't know if you can disconnect it without performing that procedure and if you do if there will be any adverse affects. I've always used the scan tool.

All you need is to unset e-brake, and it will be loose enough to be removed. I replaced the hub many times on C7s, and didn't need a tool.

the hub is loose but it is not breaking free of the axle. So with the hub free from spindle now everything is kinda moving around. Am I supposed to be using a large amount of force to separate the hub from axle?

I presume you removed the axle nut already, when the hand brake was holding things tight?

You can use a rubber mullet to convince the axle to start detaching from the hub.

yes, all bolts and nuts removed, loosened brake so it is not binding anything. I have hit it numerous times with a rubber mallet with the bolt on backwards not to damage threads. Maybe some heat will work? I used a heat gun for the 3 hub bolts, they are ridiculously tight.

tried that. I am going to secure the hub to the spindle to see if I can get better leverage that way. I am worried to hit it too hard and damage anything.

this was correct. I will add to put the transmission in Neutral with the vehicle in full accessory mode. Hold start button for 10 seconds without foot in brake and shift to Neutral.
