I wasn't driving hard-hard, as my car is still in the process of being tuned for the additional boost. However I did a couple of pulls to about 5k rpm and a bit of driving around town. So no where near the level of hard use it would see on a track.
Not the stock cooling system. As mentioned in my first post I'm running a performance radiator (about 2x thicker core than OEM) and also mostly straight water + water wetter. I also have a 160deg Tstat and have deleted my A/C so thats one less radiator for air to pass through.
There's no harm in removing the tstat just for testing purposes is there?
I may put a thermal probe on the intercooler too to see how much heat that is adding. Its hard to get a good idea based on AIT's as I'm spraying meth.
Cant hurt to try removing the stat and see how it goes
Remove the thermostat and put it in a pot of water. Monitor temp as the pot heats up and see if it opens around 180-190 F (80-90C). If it never opens and the water is boiling you have an issue.
I had a similar issue with tstat and aftermarket housing.. I ditched them both back for OEM, well actually a katech tstat and the car is running/operating cool again. In my experience the housing wasn't allowing the tstat to fully open. Billet housing, from a very reputable company. Plastic OEM unit worked like a charm.
