I have a 2017 Grandsport
I was about to sign up for the mag ride software update but it is occurring to me that I don't think my dial is impacting the cars suspension in any way
It does appear to effect the exhaust and steering but the suspension is not changing
I have a cobble stone driveway at my house and drove up it in tour and track mode and it was identical, i would think on a surface like this i should be able to notice the difference
I have heard people say the difference is dramatic and others say its not too significant

The update was a very noticeable difference to me, before the update I could tell there was a change when you changed modes but it wasn't super noticeable, not a night and day kind of feeling. Either way I'd do the update. They can probably check it out at the same time but I bet it's working and just isn't as pronounced as you're expecting. The update is worth it IMO, wish I had done it sooner.

Mag ride doesn't make the suspension much stiffer in general. Mostly it reduces lean in corners. So I'm not sure your cobblestone test proves anything.

It’s so hard to tell, some people say it is a huge difference, others say it’s subtle.
It’s at the dealer now getting new tires and an alignment, does the stock alignment tend to wear the inside quicker for street driving?
In my 2019 GS the changes are very obvious, the suspension and steering stiffen quite significantly. It’s very easy to notice. I can’t speak to the changes in cars without the revised software that showed up in the last year or so.
I don't think driving up a driveway no matter the surface is a good test. Try driving 70 mph on a highway then switch between the modes. I can drive in Tour, but in Track I feel like my spine is about to crack.
If you purchased the car used it’s possible that the previous owner personalized the drive modes in such a way that minimizes the differences in each mode but that’s kind of unlikely.

This. You're not going to feel the difference crawling up a driveway. Even on a straight, flat road, I can feel the suspension changes between modes.
