Hi everyone, I just bought a 2016 C7 3lt Z51 Corvette with 5000 miles. I know I could not believe it either. I come here today , to find out how a Stock Vette like this does in a quarter mile time and what are the best ways to improve it s times and how much these improvements will reduce my times in the quarter mile. I am thinking drag radials with a tune to begin with. Do I keep the traction control on this car , to race it or not? I drove Mustang GTs 2007,2011,2015 at the tracks. I bought this Vette because I was tired of waiting for my C8. I still do not know when I will get , even after 14 months wait. So help with this Vette would be very welcomed, thank you in advance. I do not want to mess , too much with the mechanics , because I should be selling it when the C8 comes in depending on a few things.

Traction control ON unless you want to put it into a ditch.
Even on track I use the PTM modes that keep the nannies on. The computer is way better at throttle control then you are. Unless you are a pro you will not be faster with traction control off. I am talking circuit racing here... no clue on a drag strip but the car has launch control.
Ok , quarter mile times for a 2016 C7 Z51 stock?
How much would drag radials reduce 1/4 mile times?
Then a tune?
Again should I keep the t.c. on or not?
In the past, it depended on the year of my Mustangs , if we needed t.c. for drag racing or not.
Than you

Traction control off.
You want to launch with very very slight wheel spin, no dead hook. It takes some seat time to figure your car out. and then each track will hook up a little different depending on track prep.

100%
In fact, TC doesn't keep the rear wheels from initially burning rubber and pulling sideways under hard acceleration. Mine breaks loose every time. These cars are powerful.
I tested with t.c. on with stock tires and no problem, and it stays straight, no side swerve, skips a little before hooking up, but t.c. off with stock tires is a no no , for sure. Thank you for your response.

I agree.
I was referring to the track and drag radials and was not clear.
Arctic White, isn't the most exciting and dramatic Corvette color, IMO, but that's what I found in-stock with the equipment I was seeking, all @ -20% MSRP. Welcome to the most popular Corvette Forum IMO on the Net. 👍
I agree for the white color, I prefer red , orange, but with the black wheels , black top etc . it looks good. I bought mine used , so beggars cannot be choosers. No way could I refuse a deal like that , 5000 miles in 5 years!!!! thank you
