I need to have the front lower control L and R arms replaced on my C7 Z51. The shop I brought it to says that a special tool is required for dealing with the torsion bar, and he doesn't have it.
Does anyone have a part number for this special tool so I can order it. I'd rather go to this shop than a dealer.
thx!

Are you sure you've got that right? My Hummer has torsion bars. My Corvette definitely does not.
I'm guessing you mean the compressor for the transverse leaf spring. They're a couple hundred dollars used. I think I'd rather take my car to a shop that's actually equipped with the tools to do the work.

Well, I'm just going by what the shop told me. I'm starting to get a bit nervous about what he's saying. Maybe I should just take it to the dealer.
If they say they need a tool for the torsion bars you’re at the wrong place! Get your car out of there. You have a mono leaf which is what they probably mean but if they can’t get the terminology right then they clearly aren’t equipped to work on the car.
