Default Range AFM

I have a 2017 GS A8 and I use the Range AFM disabler. Thought I read somewhere in the C7 Forum that we should run in Sport Mode or higher with A8 and Range but I don't remember why. Is that true or is Eco Mode okay with a Range? Thanks.

When using the Range Device, I don't know why you would try to run it in Eco Mode, that is what the Range Device does, it disables the AFM keeping the engine running in V8 mode all the time and not letting it run in 4 cylinder mode. I would think you would want to operate the vehicle in either Sport or Track model just for the handling and performance. I would assume if you wanted the car to run in Eco Mode and cycle in out of 4 cylinder mode, maybe for gas mileage on a trip, you would need to unplug the Range Device.
