Default Introducing Soler Perf. 103MM Throttle Body

Hello, everyone. Just wanted to introduce our latest addition to our lineup for the LTX, a much-needed "4th hitter". The result of almost two years of work, built from the ground up to compete and win. Brings a much-needed alternative to a limited, almost monopoly-like, market. Now you can have the best yet you do not have to pay the most.

Introducing Soler Performance 103MM throttle body for all the LTX's engines and more.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • At 1700+/-50 SCFM @ 20.4" Water, it flows like a 107mm TB but fits like a 103MM.
  • Has all the goodies/features we have seen in our LT1/LT4/LT5, plus some new features, all unique to our throttle bodies.
  • Designed with driveability in mind, it behaves like a stock TB when idling, composed when cruising, responsive when demanded, and a black hole available beyond that.
  • Firm and balanced at WOT under boost and not a nightmare to tune at partial throttle. In fact, runs smoothly even on stock LT1's with the stock tune.
  • Flexible bolt pattern to directly fit all LTX manifolds/superchargers (stock or custom), including the LT5 supercharger.
  • We have also added a set of accessories (customizable if required) to ensure a perfect fit, sealing, and transitions.
  • Made from materials equal or better than those used by the OEM. Fully machined for a better finish and repeatability.
  • It is durable, strong, and stiff for its duty, yet light and stylish for your interior looks.
  • Fully tested and approved by forum members.
  • All this with a warranty, customer service, and technical support to be matched.

Thanks,

Of course as soon as I get a 103mm TB this comes out. Care to share any test results particularly vs the 103?

Ha, we learned what works and what doesn't from existing 103's. The folks testing the samples had other 103's before and approved them they'll probably be posting here sooner or later. There are no specific dynos comparing TB to TB only. Here's what we have so far "apples to apples":

Airflow bench: 1698 SCFM vs. 1507 SCFM at 20.4 inch H2O at WOT.
Measured Available Flow Area: 7467mm^2 vs. 7304mm^2.

Although we got to outperform existing options, we would have been happy by just bringing out an alternative.

Thanks,

I read through all of Mike's info and believe this is a 103mm that flows like a 107 at WOT. I like the idea that it apparently will work on a stock LT1/4/5 without a tune, probably not ideally but at least not an instant warranty killer if it is not on the car when it must go to a dealership for service.

I had a vacuum leak develop from no shaft seals installed from factory on my Nick Williams 103mm while in the middle of remote tuning.
Mike sent me a pre-production unit to test out and it has been working very well!!!
Soler Performances products are built with OEM quality and have great support.
Thanks Mike!!!

Mike,

Happy to see this as I will be pulling the trigger on a heads/cam setup in the near future. Will this mate up to an LT4 Maggie 2300 with no problems?

Thanks,
Brian

Has anyone monitored idle spark advance with this TB on a stock tuned LT1/LT4/LT5? I'm curious if it exhibits the same behavior as the other very large TB's on the market.

Great question. We learned everything we could from existing 103's and we knew about the possibility of spark advance being reduced when idling, sometimes to negative values, this is even more pronounced on cammed engines. This is why we shaped these TB's to avoid this issue among others. What you'll see is a positive spark advance even without tuning.

Almost there, the device is are ready and operational, App is ready operational, all we have to do is purely cosmetic refinements. We can now say with certainty we are a month off from releasing it.

The introductory price will be $595 for a limited time until we gain some traction with them. We can assure though, that even when they go back to the regular price, you'll never pay more than the competitor's price. We'll do price matching if your decision comes to price. Just bring us the competing offer.

Much greater airflow capacity. This one you can run stock, but it would be an overkill if you don't have other supporting mods (SC porting, CAI, tuning, etc...).

No problem. Best if you get the 103mm snout option, if not, let us know what snout you've got and we have a spacer/transition to match it.

Will this TB fit on an unported LT5 blower with a spacer?
If so, how much does it reduce the flow?

It will fit, we'll provide the spacer/transition, here's the picture with available flow area and flow:

Stock setup: 5950mm^2
Setup in question: 7088mm^2
Ideal Setup (TB Max Area): 7466mm^2

Not ideal, but quite a bit up from the stock setup.

87mm. But that comment you quoted was about a new controller we are working on, disregard that. Just to clarify, the throttle bodies are ready.
