Default Bad fuel pump, maybe

HI all,
First post here and looking for advice on my 2017 C7 Grand Sport automatic trans. Its has 49000 miles.

I shut it down and sat for a bit then went to restart with no luck. Ive got rotation with no lite off.
In others words cranking but seems to not be getting fuel.
So I pulled main fuel line at the rail and no flow at all.
Ok so low pressure fuel pump not running.
Well maybe fuel control module.
Looked at service manual for diagnostic.
Ok pretty clear if you have the equipment which I don't so tow truck to Chevy dealer. Fine
They call with the great news that I need a new pump for the low low price of $3100.00!
Pull the TRANSMISSION? You gotta be kidding me!!!!!
How nice.
Ugh ok search Fuel Pump Replacement on here.
Hummm Nothing. What the what?
Search the wide wide world of webs. Nothing there ether. huh?
So I start calling indie shops and they ALL say that pump doesnt fail. Its not the pump. Its prob the fuel module which is avail for 61 bucks and takes an hour to change plus programing. So 300 bucks ish!
So I go back to the dealer to ask about what they think about that and they stand by their diagnoses saying the pump has voltage but is not putting out much pressure and that its not worth changing the fuel control module.
Ok Well what's you best price to do this job?
$2700 bucks firm.

So that's the deal but what I don't get is how am I the only one?
No one thinks this is the problem and I cant find any other cases of it ether. And this is a BIG job. Pull the tranny! Gheeeesssss For a fuel pump!
Im just having a hard time buying all this.
What do yall think?
Am I just the lucky first or what?
I mean I know things fail but this seems VERYYYYYYY rare!
Very

The fuel pumps in the C6's had a higher failure rate than the C7's. With that said, they do still fail just like any other piece of equipment. The left and right fuel tanks are located behind the seats and are attached through a tube. The easiest way to drop the tanks to get to the fuel pump is to follow these instructions. I replaced the low pressure pump in my C7 it was a real PITA. Run that thing till its almost out of gas. I thought the tanks split the difference in fuel to keep weight distribution and I was mistaken. I pulled the tank with just under a half tank so I had to wrastle a full 7 gallon tank of gas out of the car. I didn't have to pull the trans though. That would make it easier but I haven't pulled the cradle on one of these cars. I can confidently say it can be done without pulling the trans (manual) if you curse at it enough. I was having fueling issues after installing a blower. Turned out the car was make 3-4+ lbs more boost than what we expected. CRAZY!
