Default Front Splitter Install without Rivets?

I'm planning on installing an Extreme Online Stage 2 front splitter. The standard install uses 10 screws and 10 rivets. I'd like to find a suitable alternative to the rivets (screws and clips, nutsets, fasteners, quarter turns, something). The splitter is going to need to come off in the future, in particular because one of my front cameras just went out, so the front bumper etc has to be removed to service. And likely will have to replace the splitter after a year of track days. So rivets are a poor choice here.

Looking for suggestions for a sturdy and removable install technique.

I just installed the stage 2 from EOS, no rivets were used.

Just the factory screws and some self tappers.

After some hunting around on McMaster Carr, I found some jack nuts that should do trick. Just need to get the right size for the hole and mounting depth.

I don't get it?

I told you I just installed the same piece you are talking about 2 days ago.

There are NO rivets in the kit, no rivets in the directions, no rivets needed for the install at all.

I reply that to you and even go so far as to include a picture of the same item you are talking about, to show you I do infact know what I am talking about.

Yet you just go on to respond about rivets still.

Did you read a word I typed out for you?

Was I just wasting my time by providing you information?

My splitter is riveted on, and I've had the bumper off twice since I installed it. You just take it all off as one piece. Not a big deal at all.

Dzus fasteners, but that’s more work to put them in initially than it’s worth.

Stage 2 EOS installed here also without rivets too. I don't drive over 100mph where it probably starts to matter. The roads around here in Central Florida are trash dumps for every contractor and lawn guy so the likely of splitter damage is great and not having the rivets makes it much easier to replace.

BTW, IMHO the quality and design of the EOS Stage-2 sucks for anyone considering it.

I used OEM screws/bolts, in combination with
double-sided molding tape double-sided molding tape
and
fender liner retainers/fasteners fender liner retainers/fasteners
, rather than metal rivets to install my
Stage 2 CBF splitter from @C7 Carbon. I remain happy with the result.

Why is everyone so against using rivets? They are extremely easy to put in and not hard to get out.

Agree with #10 - Very easy to remove rivets with appropriate drill size.

They weren't "hard" to remove, but I don't like using them BECAUSE a drill is required to remove them. Obviously, YMMV.

I bolted mine on. It would pull down away from the bumper after repeated trips to 160 mph at the track. Black #8 pan head screws, washers and nuts.

3M Heavy duty double-sided tape works well in these cases as well.

Thank you for your post. I must admit that I'm one of those ordinary fools who prefer to learn from their own mistakes rather than the experience of others.
After your extremely detailed instructions in the original post, I was simply too sheepish to admit that I needed more information. I was rather confused by the fact that my kit actually did include rivets:

So I figured that EOS must have put the wrong kit in, since it was clear that you knew what you were talking about.

In the end I figured it out. The jack nuts were a fail after all--as I'm sure you knew a priori. I ended up using the factory screws in the rear set of holes, and both u-clips and self tappers in the front set, and not using any of the rivet holes for now. It held up on track yesterday (~135mph top).

To the other folks who helpfully pointed out that the bumper can be removed without removing the splitter, thank you as well.

I wouldn't have a splitter, so I'm not familiar with where the rivets go, but on race cars I often use Riv-nuts for aero-parts applications, which allow one to screw things together. You might wish to check them out if you've never used them. All the best.

I just now saw this post or I would have responded earlier.

how freaking weird that we both bought the same kit and mine did not come with rivits.

Mine has been fine as well.

I haven't driven it much lately due to the season but put quite a few miles on it before it got cold.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Have the ACS stage 3 with undertray. Used rivets because it is a beefy splitter.
