18 inch drag radials
Hi guys, I’m looking for some guidance on a set of 18 inch drag radials on a lowered car on stock bolts. I purchase a new set of Weld Ventura beadlocks 18x 12 and I’m trying to figure out what’s the best size tire to go with without rubbing issues. The car only makes around 700 rear wheel and I will be running a set of 18x6 inch alumistars with Mickey Thompson SR up front.
any help would be great figuring this out so I only purchase once!
thanks John

I have a Stingray with mid 600rwhp with 4000 stall converter. I needed to hook on the street not only the track. That’s why I went with the 335/30/18’s this time around. They hook great on the street and should work better than the 315’s I had. So, with your new wheels if the offset is correct I don’t see why you would hit with these tires. Worse case would be just raise the rear a tad bit

Thanks I’m not afraid to raise the car back up a little if that’s what it takes. I’m just trying to fill the wheel well up as much as possible and I’m not sure if going wide is better than going tall with as little hp it makes on a A8 would going with a taller tire make the car slower because it’s killing the gearing?

Really should be no other answer. It's the best radial hands down.
My car is fully lowered on them. They do rub a little if you hit a dip in the highway fast enough.

I run the MT on 18 inchers , my advice RAISE the CAR ! IT will help transfer weight , it wont rub and the tires will fit properly ...
Other than that , you're just fighting up uphill battle .
