I recently won a certificate for a new set of Michelin tires up to a value of $2000. The problem is that nobody wants to mount tires for these cars unless they sold you the tires. They are not easy to install and there is a risk of damage. I know this because the last time I bought tires from Tire Rack and tried to get them installed, I had a very difficult time. This was with my 99. I can't imagine the resistance I will encounter when I try this for my 2014 Z51. Does anybody here know a place local to the Chicago suburbs that will work with me?
I'd bet discount tire would still mount them. They may charge you for it but the DT by me has no issues mounting my Z06 tires. Same equipment as the dealer would use which would be another option.
I don't know if they have them in your area but I used GoMobile here in the Austin TX area and the guy came to my house and mounted and balanced my tires. He had a touchless system and did a great job.
In the past on my F150 I bought wheels and tires separately and Discount had no issues mounting them. The rep asked me why I didn't buy tires from them. I showed him the price I paid and he couldn't come close to matching it. But he had no issue charging me to mount and balance them off my vehicle.
Tire Rack does mobile installation. I scheduled an appointment. It prompted for my car info. I even called the number for mobile service. They did not seem to be concerned. I also told them I would be sure the tires are room temperature when they arrived. They sure seemed to like this comment however. I also ordered new TPM as well. 433mhz from Schrader. I have bought tires from them before, including C5 sizes. We shall see and advise as I'm scheduled for February 26.

Discount tire will mount them in my area (Cincinnati). They've done it for me a couple times, but they charge $40-$50 per tire.

I just had new tires mounted on my $$$$ forged wheels at Discount tire in Hormer Glen on bell rd. Happy to say they did an awsome job.
You cannot find a private shop that will mount your tires... in Chicago? I live in a dinky Southern town and have never had an issue with a couple locals wanting my money. Forego the chain-stores. All the best.
Go to an independent non chain tire store they will do them. All the chain stores won't even mount used tires because they're afraid of liability. Even after I offered to pay cash and didn't want a receipt they still wouldn't do it. My local independent does them all the time and they're always perfect, and they don't have the super duper touchless hunter machines either. This is on a z51 with the stock 19/20 setup. Good luck!
I moved my appointment to this coming Saturday, March 5. It is supposed to be 62 degrees out. Putting the tires in the house overnight too. Tire Rack seems to be confident they can mount but thanked me for considering tire temperatures prior to installation. Ill respond with the outcome.

Chain stores in my area will mount 285/30/19 & 335/25/20 as long as the DOT codes on the tires aren't more than six years old.
Tire Rack installed my tires without much fanfare. It took him 2 hours, needed me to show him the outside on the sidewall, but otherwise was good to deal with. No rim damage whatsoever. Mount and balance 100 bucks. Can't beat it.
Never bother with a dealership. There are tire and wheel specialty shops that will do this. I found one in my area that does the big rims with short sidwalls. They did it no problem. That mobile service is cool though. I'll look for that next time. Glad you got it done.
Thanks for all the replies. ZJoe, I've done that too with the 99. From my experience, I get better results when I bring them off the car. That is a pain in the tail however. People laugh at those cars with 30 inch rims, but the installers of their tires can do our Vette rims easy.
