Default Replacing SC Lid and Bricks Help

2015 Z, just bought 2017 lid and cooling bricks. Can these bricks be installed without a tune?

Yes, you do NOT need a tune for just the lid and bricks.

What they change is lower the intake air temps which the computer uses to decide if it needs to take out timing. The hotter the air coming in the more timing is removed and less power - with the 2017 lid and bricks the air doesn't get as hot so you keep the timing and power.

Don't forget to remove the hood liner.

Here's my next educational opportunity - what's a 'cooling brick'?

He’s using the term interchangeably for the two intercooler cores.

It will not affect power or SC whine. I swapped a 2017+ SC into my 2015 Z two years ago. I didn't notice any increase in whine or power, You still have to bleed the SC properly for the bricks to provide the improved charge air cooling to cylinders 7 and 8. The bricks help reduce power loss Vs improve power.

How did the install go? Do the 17-19 bricks fit? What kind of modification are needed to make them fit?

you may need to drill out 2 of the mounting holes on the bricks to line them up too the supercharger.

and no you dont have to change the hood liner. the lid just barely touches it no big deal

There's a thread that details the full conversion procedure. Since the 2017 and up bricks sit differently in the SC housing, I think the only mod you'll need to worry about is mounting them in there. Lots of guys have done it. I would use the forum search.
