Alternator Replacement Cost
Howdy folks. After about 1000 miles in my new to me 2018 GS with 40K on the clock the alternator failed. Putting out 11.5.
I took it to a local indy shop, they quoted me 1000 to change it. 500 for the part from Chevy and 500 in labor.
A smaller shop wanted 750 to do the job, again, 500 for the alternator from Chevy and the rest in labor.
I beat the first shop up a bit and got them to 700 for the job.
I still feel like I paid entirely too much. My warranty co is paying out a large portion of the job leaving me with a small bit on top but DAMN!
What kind of prices have you folks seen out there in the wild?
