I just got my 2016 Z06 out for the spring. The six year old battery was quite dead. After a quick trip to the parts store I got a new one installed. The car started right up so I pulled out on the driveway to do a little spring cleaning. At the same time I tried to reprogram my second fob. Before realizing the car battery was dead I thought it might be the fob so I put a new battery in it and it didn't function after the car battery was installed. Anyway in the middle of my first attempt at reprograming almost everything in the car died. It won't start, there is no display on the dash except for the momentary "Corvette" display. My one functional remote will unlock the doors but the trunk release inside or out won't work. I really don't want to have to have it flat bedded to the dealer to replace a fuse or something else simple. If anyone has any suggestions to try before I do that it would be great. Thanks
It is possible that you need to look at your battery connections. Cable clamps must be down level, and tight. All of the buss bars / fuse connections must be tight. This is a common problem.
Open the rear hatch with the metal key or attempt to top off the battery and use the electric hatch release button.
Pop the hood and connect a battery maintainer (+) to the bolt on the back end of the fuse block, (-) to any ground such as the alternator mounting bracket. DO NOT CONNECT A HIGH AMP BATTERY CHARGER HERE!
ONLY ATTACH HIGH AMP BATTERY CHARGER TO THE BATTERY OR STARTER TERMINAL!
If after you verify good battery voltage and operation with the good fob, follow the instructions above to reprogram your fobs as #1 and #2.
