RE 2014 Z51 3LT
I was hearing a knocking sound when I turned off the engine. Took into the local Chevy service.
They think it's a "Possible loose flange nut internal to the torque tube. A loose nut can cause damage to the threads on the shaft holding the flange"
They quoted me $3900 to just pull it apart and see what the issue is. That seems excessive. Anyone have this experience?
Thanks

I've had it done twice on my 2016 Z06. That cost is what it was the second time I had it done. It's a huge job to get to the TT. Good luck. Sorry, wish I had better news for you.
My TT sounded like idler pully bearing was trashed, only made noise when sitting or when let off throttle and coasting. been in shop for 3 weeks now. It is a pricy job for sure .
The below is from a C6, but the C5/6/7 are all very similar. As you can see, TT removal is not a quick task. Not particularly hard, but certainly takes a more than a few hours.
