Has anyone heard or had an experience with a piston rod breaking? I recently had this happen on my GS less than 30 thousand miles on it. I should explain this is a C7 LT1.

Reason: Missing info
Did something else fail thus causing the rod to fail? For instance, did a valve drop? When a valve drops sometimes the irresistible force meets the immovable object causing the rod to break and punch a hole in the block.
I would also love to know the circumstances around the failure. How the car was being operated - highway, city driving, speed, rpms, ambient and engine temp, oil weight, etc. I know, I'm a geek...
If you're stock that is a random fluke and not common in any capacity. I have personally pushed OEM LT1 rods to 990 rwhp and all that happened was one got bent. It still ran just made noise haha.
