Default Nav problems?

Hey everyone! I have a 15 C7 and was wondering if anyone else has nav dropping problems. I was using it today and it drops almost constantly (GPS block with an X over it), damn near lost my way going thru NYC and Baltimore because of it. Does anyone know how to fix this or mitigate this problem? If I gave my car the data plan, would that make this go away? Because other than that and needing a new screen, car runs better than a dream. TIA!

The red X over GPS indicates loss of GPS signal. If you are surrounded by very tall buildings I guess this could happen. Usually the cause is a bad GPS antenna, cable, or connection.

Data plan will not help.

There were threads on this a while back. If you have the patience try searching.

Searched for GPS in C7 Tech. Here are a few samples.

The loss of the GPS signal could be due to a problem with the antenna or the wiring from the antenna to the Nav unit. If you have access to a scanner similar to the GM MDI scanner look for DTC B2462. You may be looking at replacing your HMI module or the cable from the antenna to the HMI module. The scanner has to be able to read body codes an OBD II scanner won't cut it.
