Default aFe CAI options for C7 GS?

Hey gang, researching CAI for 2019 C7-GS. Seems aFe is a popular choice. I am learning there are two models, one titled Momentum which is a closed box, and the other is a Magnum which is open box. Anyone familiar with this product and the two options? Pro/Cons of either. I do HPD 5-6x/year. I also understand the air intake is the choke point for our LT1 motors. True? On the fence of a Stg 1-2 tune.

Thanks!

The stock intake itself actually isnt restrictive with stock engine, its the stock filter. I changed my filter to BMS and actually felt a difference. Some exhaustive research was done to corroborate my experience.

If your engine is modified though the 5 inch ones like big gulp or the like could make a difference. Some video indicate that.

For what its worth, The open box looks cool but I was thinking wouldnt that let hotter air in from the engine bay? dunno

How much more power was made with BMS that you can feel the difference?

Closed intake is better for less heat soak.

I think you are right but I can't prove it. I run the Cordes 5" and IAT's come down on a hard pull. I am just not sure closed top wouldn't be just as effective. I actually saw a Cordes 5" with a fabricated plastic top over filter opening.. I should have bookmarked.

A back to back with Big Gulp and Cordes would be interesting..
