Any of you guys notice the sound of water flowing or swishing around when its quiet inside the car. The noise seems to be coming from behind the instrument cluster on the inside of the engine compartment.
I had heard it was related to the dry sump system, but it is a strange sound. I've had the car for a year and really only noticed it yesterday. I was sitting in the car with it running and the doors closed with no audio going which is probably why.
From: Murrells Inlet, SC (formally New Windsor, NY)
My C6 Z06 did it as well as my C7 Z06. It was more noticeable on the C6Z. As a side note, i don’t hear it at all on my wife’s C7 Stingray. So as stated earlier, it’s more than likely the dry sump oil system.
I've had my Z51 for 7 years and 98,000 miles and never heard any sound like that......... until this morning which was before i came across this thread.
Have to see if it repeats and investigate a little further.
I had it to the dealer last week for new O2 sensor and they found a very slight weep of coolant from a fitting to the heater hose. They had to move the alternator out of the way to see it. They topped off the coolant tank and said it was very minor and would cost $800 to replace the fitting.
I'm wondering if there is now some air trapped in the heater loop.
To bring this up to date. Dealer replaced the inflow/outflow hose to the heater and No more leaks and no flowing water noises at all.

Reason: update
Ditto.. I was concerned that I had air in my cooling system. I thought it was the heater core..
First time for a C7 and a dry sump as well.
Ya' live, ya' learn.
Thanks all!
