The best way to fix it is to replace the strikers with the updated version.

The cheap way is to stuff some o-rings in there.

Pins alone won't do it. You need the updated striker plates.

I had noises on my original 2014 roof. I did the o-ring fix and that helped. It was still occasionally noisy, but good enough that I could live with it.

I later bought an exposed carbon fiber roof that already had the new pins. I put that on in place of the old one. It was horrible. The new pins with the original striker design didn't work at all.

I bought the new strikers. It was perfect.

OMG, there are a gazillion relevant posts here that an "Advanced search" across the C7 Forum sections will dredge up. Regarding them, there are about an equal number of things people have done to address the issue... with varying success. For me it was tightening the rear latch just "one more turn" than I really wanted to initially. All the best.

I took your advice and preliminarily used the 303 which I have used on my Class A slide-outs weather gaskets, etc. for years. It did quiet down the squeaks but I'll keep a good ear before taking other advice for folks that chimed in.

Thanks!

Are new strikers needed or just latches?

Pins and strikers. The latches don't need to be changed. Everything you need to know is in the first link in post #3.

The striker plates are cast aluminum. The pins are steel with some kind of low friction plastic sleeve.

Resurrecting this older thread. I have the new strikers to replace now but can't seem to find any links with instructions on how to change them. They look pretty straightforward but it's nice to have a video or document with the proper procedures.

I already have the updated pins as my car is a 2016 but it has the old style strikers and creaks like crazy when hot outside.
