On the new engine I have a Nick Williams 103mm throttle body that connects to my prior AFE Momentum Cold Air Intake. The shop squeezed/forced/finagled the AFE silicone coupler to fit the larger tb but let me tell you....it's not pretty.
Does anyone have a lead/link they can point me too so I can buy a new coupler/reducer? I *think* the outer diameter of the NW 103 tb is 108mm and the AFE coupler I'll guess is around 90-92mm I'm concerned that if I take it off I'll damage it or never get it back on so I'd like to have the replacement in hand.
I'd just do a search for something like"4.25 x 3.5 coupler hose". That looks like it will get you what you need. You could also look for a hump hose if there is any alignment mismatch.
Shout out to AFE. I sent them a note and they were kind enough to respond back that their CAI uses a hose that's 3.875" ID and the NW 103mm throttle body has an OD of 4.25". The person helping me checked their stock but didn't have anything in that size.
With the dimensions, a little Google'ing turned up Intake Hoses.com The have a reducer that's 4.25" x 3.75" . The fact the other shop could stretch a 3.875" ID hose over the 4.25" throttle body makes me feel pretty comfortable I can stretch a 3.75" hose 0.12" With it being 3" long I can trim as needed.
Just curious if this worked?? I’m about to be in the same boat and was curious when I found your post.
Would appreciate any insight you have!
The coupler was a little long so I trimmed around 1/4" off of each end using a utility knife with a new blade. The coupler has been in place for multiple track days...1,000 miles worth....without issue
