I've now had the Range Device plugged in for a little over 3wks. Besides staying in V8 mode, the other thing I like about it is all 4 of my exhaust tips stay clean!!! I hated getting down to clean them after driving the car. Not as young and flexible as I once was.
Never observed a benefit like that. Ran up about 25k miles on mine... maybe you're spending more time in the throttle and keeping those pipes cleared? Boosted and tuned now so I don't need one anymore.
I love it. No more tranny or Touque shudder. I don't need V4 much. Long Hway trips, maybe I'll pull it out. Best $ 150+/- bucks I've spent. (After 3 tranny flushes, 2 rear diff fluid changes) still a sound, until the fix.

Try this. Take the unit out and paddle shift. That should eliminate the V4 mode.
All I know is I gave the tips a real good polishing after installing the Range Device. And I haven't had to polish them since. It's been over 4wks. now. I've washed the car a couple times and that's all I've done. After washing and blowing the car dry, I haven't touched the tips.
Well. Turns out our ‘14 Silverado takes the same Range device as my 2017 GS. I ordered my own Range device but we used the one today from the truck in my car. Car runs sooooo much better.

Other than keeping it out of V4 mode, I don't know what else it does. I didn't notice anything different when I had it besides that.

Husband and I took it down the road with the Range device, no discernible stutters, stopped and removed Range device, definite feel when it was switching from 4 to 8 and back ( and I was in Sport mode all this time)…stopped again, re-installed the Range device, no more stutter…we are going to change the transmission fluid too just to make sure we cover all the bases. But I’m feeling better about it. I was very annoyed by the shudder/stutter going on in my car.
oh-relevant to the thread (again OP, I’m sorry to have hijacked your thread) my exhaust tips had black on the outer two only. Kind of weird but 🤷🏻♀️ …
How does everyone like the range. It is illegal in california, but thinking about getting it anyway. I have mild to wild and can hear difference when switches to V4 mode. I want to eliminate this lack of exhaust sound

I got mine, didn't like how it did the job so I sold it off and plan to tune AFM out and maybe get a more responsive pedal.
I appreciate the info. I think I will need to research
According to the site, they do warn you that you must remove it and drive around for a while to get the emissions monitors in readiness state. To me, that makes me wonder what you are missing by not having the ECM ensure that your emissions stuff is not checked. I'd rather have it done in the ECM and while I am at it, why not increase throttle sensitivity and negate any need for a throttle body fooler?
