Default engine bay temperature

i want to paint my intake cover.
i can only find the color i want in 500 degree paint.
is that good enough to last?

That depends on the quality of the paint job. I don't think your intake cover gets to 500 degrees

used a rattle can matt finish for painting suspension parts. Works great. The insulation under the plastic manifold keeps it cool.

Be aware that some high temp paints require a high temperature (e.g. 250 F, 450 F) to cure. If the intake doesn't get that hot you'll have a mess.

I’ve done painting (Rustoleum) on my C6 and my C7 with no temperature related issues.

The only place that under hood temps will exceed 250 degrees will be the exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters, temperatures on the plastic parts shouldn’t be an issue.
